1st International Rare and Paediatric Disease Conference - Virtual Event 18-19/11/2021

The Conference is organised by ‘’95’’ Rare Alliance Greece together with Consorzio per Valutazioni Biologiche e Farmacologiche (CVBF) and Athena Research and innovation center in information communication & knowledge technologies.


“95”, Rare Alliance Greece is a Greek non-profit Patient Organization advocating for all who live with a rare and an undiagnosed rare disease. It was founded in Athens in 2019, and today it has members that represent/cover more than 70 different rare diseases and undiagnosed rare conditions all over Greece with the number constantly increasing. The Organization’s main objective is to address everyday problems faced by patients with rare and undiagnosed rare conditions in Greece, but also to build a future for our national rare disease community. Therefore, not only it supports policy making, capacity building, education and patient advocacy, but also promotes research in the field of rare disorders and ensures the transfer of knowledge, innovation and learning from abroad.


Consorzio per Valutazioni Biologiche e Farmacologiche (CVBF) is a not-for-profit organisation, founded in 2000 with the mission to perform research and education in the life sciences, biotechnologies, and pharmaceutical fields. Its main focus is drug development for small populations (paediatric and rare diseases). CVBF mission is to perform innovative research initiatives in the European scenario and in particular to enhance paediatric research from drug discovery and early development to medicines formulations and clinical phases. CVBF promotes networking within the scientific community and collaboration between stakeholders with an ethical patient-centred approach.


The mission of Athena Research and innovation center in information communication & knowledge technologies is to conduct outstanding research in Informatics and Computational Sciences and to ensure this research has an impact on society, especially regarding local needs. The fundamental role of Athena RC is to build knowledge and devise solutions and technologies for the digital society. The PharmaInformatics Unit (PI) focuses on the computational work (modeling and simulation) associated with all stages of drug development from early discovery to application of pharmaceutical products.
